Method 1 — Delete from within the app
This is the fastest way to delete your account. Deletion happens immediately.
- Open the Woosha app on your device
- Tap Settings (gear icon)
- Tap My Data
- Tap Delete My Account
- Confirm the destructive prompts
Your account and all associated data will be scheduled for permanent deletion
immediately. You will be signed out and returned to the welcome screen, and you
will not be able to sign back in with that account.
Delete My Account is not the
same as Delete All My Data. Both appear under Settings → My Data.
Delete My Account removes your data and your sign-in record together, and the
account is gone. Delete All My Data clears your logged content and resets your
profile but keeps your account and sign-in, so you can sign back in and start over.
Choose Delete My Account if you want the account itself deleted.
Alternative
Method 2 — Request deletion by email
If you cannot access the app (device lost, forgot password, uninstalled),
you can request deletion by email.
- Send an email to privacy@woosha.app
- Use the subject line: "Delete My Account"
- Include the email address associated with your Woosha account
- We will verify your identity by sending a confirmation link to that email address
- Once verified, we will delete your account and data within 7 business days
We may ask for additional verification if we cannot confirm your identity through
the email address alone. This is to protect your account from unauthorized deletion requests.
What Gets Deleted
When you delete your Woosha account, the following data is permanently removed
from our systems within 30 days:
Account information
Email address, password hash, authentication credentials, and Google/Apple sign-in identifiers — removed together in a single server-side operation
Profile data
Display name, onboarding preferences, notification settings, emergency contact
Mental health data
All panic attack check-ins, anxiety assessments, mood tracking, journal entries, thought reframing entries, technique usage sessions
Cycle and hormone data
Menstrual cycle dates, cycle length, phase tracking, PMS symptoms, period history, cycle-anxiety correlation findings
AI-generated content
All Weekly Insights, Predictions, Thought Reframing suggestions, Socratic Questioning and Fear Ladder content generated for your account. Journal Reflection Prompts are pre-written, not AI-generated, and are not produced or stored per account.
Usage and diagnostic data
Session history, feature usage patterns, crash reports linked to your account (via Sentry)
Subscription data
Your RevenueCat subscription record and entitlement history
What May Be Retained
In limited cases, we may retain certain information as required by law or for
legitimate business purposes:
Financial records (up to 7 years)
Subscription payment records may be retained for tax and accounting purposes as required by US federal and Alabama state law. This information does not include your app content.
Anonymized aggregate data (indefinite)
Statistics that cannot be linked back to you personally (e.g., "X total users completed a meditation session") may be retained for product analytics. This data contains no identifying information.
Legal compliance records (as required)
If we have received a legal request or are required by law to preserve certain data, we may retain it for the required period. This is rare and we notify affected users when legally permitted.
Deletion timeline: Your data is scheduled for deletion immediately
when you request it. Full removal from all systems, including backups, completes
within 30 days. The 30-day window accounts for encrypted database backups that
cycle through their normal retention period.
Important: Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
Once your data is deleted, we cannot recover it, and you will need to create a
new account if you wish to use Woosha again. Consider exporting your data
first from Settings → My Data → Export if you want a personal copy.
Delete Some Data Without Deleting Your Account
If you want to delete specific data without deleting your entire account,
you have these options within the app:
Delete individual entries
Any panic event log, journal entry, or thought reframing entry can be deleted individually from within the app
Delete a category of data
Settings → My Data → delete a data category, such as AI Insights, journal entries, panic logs, or cycle and hormone tracking
Delete All My Data
Settings → My Data → Delete All My Data. This clears your logged content and resets your profile but keeps your account and sign-in, so you can sign back in and start again
Turn AI features off
Settings → AI Features → turn AI off. This is a single switch covering all AI tools together. No further data is sent to Anthropic; it does not by itself remove insights already generated, which you delete through the My Data options above
