Woosha is a consumer wellness application developed and operated by Epic Media, LLC, an Alabama limited liability company based in Huntsville, Alabama. Woosha is designed to help you understand and manage anxiety and panic through educational content and self-guided exercises.

Woosha Is Not Medical Care

Woosha is not a substitute for professional medical care. Woosha does not:

  • Diagnose any mental health or medical condition
  • Provide medical treatment or therapy
  • Establish a doctor-patient or therapist-client relationship
  • Replace consultation with a qualified healthcare provider
  • Constitute medical advice under any circumstance

Epic Media, LLC is not a covered entity or a business associate under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and information you enter into Woosha is not protected health information under HIPAA. How your information is handled is explained in our Privacy Policy and, for residents of Washington, Nevada, and Connecticut, in our Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy.

Educational Content Only

The information and exercises in Woosha are for educational and self-help purposes. They are not diagnostic instruments and are not intended to substitute for a clinical evaluation by a licensed psychiatrist, psychologist, therapist, or other qualified mental health professional. Only a qualified clinician who has conducted a thorough assessment can accurately diagnose a mental health condition.

If what you experience in Woosha sounds familiar to concerns you have about your own mental health, that is worth discussing with a healthcare provider rather than using Woosha to self-diagnose.

Standardized Questionnaires

Woosha includes the Generalized Anxiety Disorder 7-item scale (GAD-7) as a self-monitoring tool. The GAD-7 was developed by Drs. Robert L. Spitzer, Janet B.W. Williams, Kurt Kroenke and colleagues, with an educational grant from Pfizer Inc. Woosha is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the authors of that instrument or by Pfizer Inc.

A score produced in Woosha is not a diagnosis, has no clinical weight on its own, and can be affected by how you happen to feel on the day you complete it. It is intended only to help you notice change over time and to give you something concrete to discuss with a clinician. If the app suggests that you seek professional help based on a score, that is an automated prompt applied to everyone above a threshold, not an assessment of you.

When to Seek Professional Care

Please consult a licensed mental health professional if:

  • You experience symptoms of a mental health condition
  • Your symptoms are severe or worsening
  • You have thoughts of self-harm or suicide
  • Your daily functioning is significantly impaired
  • You are considering or currently taking mental health medications
  • You have a history of trauma, PTSD, or complex mental health conditions

Exposure and Reframing Exercises

Woosha includes techniques such as thought reframing and gradual exposure exercises, which are drawn from approaches used in cognitive behavioral practice. These techniques ask you to engage directly with anxious thoughts, which is a legitimate therapeutic principle but can feel uncomfortable.

If you are currently in a mental health crisis, currently in intensive therapy for panic or anxiety, or have a history of severe trauma, please consult with your therapist before using these features. These features are optional and can be skipped, and nothing else in the app depends on them.

Flow and Rhythmic Visual Content

Woosha’s Flow feature presents guided video content that uses alternating rhythmic visual movement for general stress relief. It is a consumer wellness tool. It is not therapy, it is not equivalent to any clinical protocol, and Woosha claims no affiliation with the EMDR International Association or any professional body.

Before using Flow, you will be asked to confirm that you have read this advisory. You should not use Flow without first speaking to your treating clinician if you have any of the following:

  • An active PTSD diagnosis
  • A history of dissociation or depersonalization disorder
  • Acute trauma experienced within the past three months
  • A severe anxiety disorder without current clinical support
  • A seizure disorder or photosensitive epilepsy
  • Active psychosis or hallucinations

If at any point during a Flow session you feel distressed, disoriented, or overwhelmed, stop the session immediately. You can close Flow at any time using the back button.

Woosha’s Bilateral Stimulation feature is not available in the current release and cannot be accessed.

AI Features

Woosha’s optional AI features generate content using artificial intelligence, not a clinician. AI output can be incorrect, incomplete, or contrary to established clinical guidance, and it must not be treated as medical or clinical advice. Some AI features transmit text exactly as you have typed it to our AI provider. Our AI Disclosure explains, feature by feature, what is sent.

Not a Crisis Service

Woosha is not a real-time crisis service. It does not monitor your account, does not review what you write, and cannot detect that you are in danger. If you are in crisis, use these resources:

  • Emergency: Call 911
  • Suicide and Crisis Lifeline: Call or text 988
  • Crisis Text Line: Text HOME to 741741

Not FDA-Regulated

Woosha is not a medical device as defined by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and has not been reviewed, cleared, or approved by the FDA for any diagnostic or therapeutic purpose. Woosha is a general wellness product intended to support general mental wellbeing. It is not intended to diagnose, cure, mitigate, prevent, or treat any disease or condition.
